Construction Law

GFW’s construction lawyers provide legal advice to owners, general contractors, mortgage lenders, architects, engineers and other consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and surety (bonding) companies involving all aspects of construction projects.

Members of our construction law team have been practicing in construction law for over 20 years.  We have many years of experience in advising clients on the enforceability of construction contracts, tendering, bonding, dispute resolution, progress payments, hold back and trust obligations, construction liens, deficiencies and warranties, and collection of unpaid accounts. The Construction Law team has extensive experience representing clients with respect to commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

We provide thoughtful and knowledgeable advice to assist our construction clients on a variety of matters including the interpretation of complex contracts, statutory requirements and limitation periods.

Members of our construction law team have instructed construction lien and construction law seminars and classes through the Barrie Construction Association, the Orillia and District Construction Association and Georgian College, and are members of various construction associations throughout Simcoe County.
